Unheilig Fernweh

Distant world, I'm coming.
I can see your lights.
I've dreamed of it so often,
to see you from a distance.

I see the sky showing a star,
And feel the late sunlight.
I hear the waves crashing crowns,
when the tide breaks the flow.

I turn the rudder to the north,
where the stars are always
and let the wind carry the sails,
even when the sun goes down.

And I search the horizon for you.

Distant world, I'm coming.
I can see your lights.
I've dreamed of it so often,
to see you from a distance.

Distant world, I'm coming.
I can see your sky.
I've dreamed of it so often,
to stand on your shores.

I've got the world, for you it was born,
to be very close to you.
I have the night pulled into the light,
thought of you every time.

I turn the compass direction of hope
and the tide pulls me back too.
I would fight until the wind turns,
continue to trust in my luck.

And I search the horizon for you.

Distant world, I'm coming.
I can see your lights.
I've dreamed of it so often,
to see you from a distance.

Distant world, I'm coming.
I can see your sky.
I've dreamed of it so often,
to stand on your shores.

I see the sky and the stars,
and search every time for you.
I look further into the distance,
and imagine you're with me.

Distant world, I'm coming.
Distant world, I'm coming.

Distant world, I'm coming.
I can see your lights.
I've dreamed of it so often,
to see you from a distance.

Distant world I come from,
I can see your sky.
I've dreamed of it so often,
to stand on your shores.
